Betty used to live a life of privilege.
She owned a business in the beauty industry in Indonesia, while her husband was a highflyer in his company. Together with their two young sons, their lives were complete.
Then, a car accident left her husband paralysed from the waist down, and their lives took a turn for the worse. Betty had to take up the mantle as the sole breadwinner of the family.
The former Mrs Singapore was diagnosed with Stage 3 womb cancer in 2015 and she joined the Bishana Support Group in 2016. She has been a volunteer befriender with Singapore Cancer Society since before her cancer diagnosis and today, Betty is a proud Patient Ambassador.
Her confidence and zest for life inspires us every day.
