The Human Spirit Series is a pilot Artvocacy project where dance meets film.
Conceptualised by SCS Psychosocial Support Services, The Human Spirit Series presents a fusion of art in motion to showcase different facets of the lived cancer experience.
The ‘Indomitable Spirit’ refers to an innate part of a person where hope and courage arises to enable one to get up and face each day with a smile. The will to stay resilient with unwavering determination, unfazed by cancer’s uncertain trajectory, is a message SCS’s cancer survivors hope to share with the wider cancer community.
This concept film is produced alongside people with a cancer story – patients, survivors, caregivers, and supporters – who star as dancers in this film. We want to give special thanks to @AstraZeneca and @Cancer Can Give for their kind support in empowering patient engagement initiatives.

Although the race period has ended, fundraising for the Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer (RAC) carries on till 16 October 2022. At this juncture, we hope to do a final rally: Do join us to help raise more funds for families and individuals impacted by cancer. Funds raised will make a practical difference for those who seek treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, rehabilitation, hospice care, cancer screenings, and support group initiatives, while enabling research and public education.
